Indulge with The Pudding Club is number 7 in Visit England's list no less, very coincidental as each Pudding Club meeting serves 7 traditional British puddings!
Eight days, four venues and eight pudding cookery demonstrations in Japan, it went like clockwork, no hitches, just lots of very happy Pudding Club fans!
Thanks to the team at the beautiful Shangri-La Hotel in Tokyo, The Pudding Club Afternoon Tea there was fun, this is where Simon - The Pudding Master - was mobbed because of his hand painted silk Pudding Club tie!
Pudding Cookery demonstrations took place at St Christopher's Tea Garden in Tokyo, Liptons Tea School in Ginza, The Lattice Tea Room in Nagoya and an amazing mock Tudor(!) venue in Takarazuka!
Virgin Atlantic flew us to and back home from Tokyo and gave us great service! RSVP magazine organised the events, including signings of The Pudding Club's recipe book - Great British Puddings!
We love spreading the word about Great British puddings!
Thanks to everyone who supported the trip and to the hundreds of British pudding lovers we met in Japan!
The Pudding Club is going on tour to Japan in conjunction with RSVP magazine in the spring 2013. Simon Coombe - The Pudding Cub's Chief Taster (!) and his wife Jill will be demonstrating how to prepare and cook British puddings, followed by tasting sessions at the following venues :-

Stephen's tie is pale blue, made of silk and has custard down it from knot to tip. I'm at Three Ways House Hotel in Mickleton and I am about to take on the challenge of a lifetime.
Stephen Milnes is the jovial and enthusiastic host of the Pudding Club, started 27 years ago in an effort to celebrate the great British puddings that were, at that point, off the menu at most restaurants. "You could only get three puddings int he early 1980s" says Jill Coombe, co-owner of the hotel. "Black forest gateau, sherry trifle and cheesecake. That was it"."Or rum baba if you got really lucky", chips in Stephen.
And so the Pudding Club took flight-its mission to bring back the wonder of the steamed sponge, with "lashings of custard". Stephen grins broadly, his eyes glaze over. He's in custard reverie. I can tell.............
