Christmas 2009

Wednesday 23rd December

Welcome to your Christmas holiday. After you have settled into your room get nice and comfortable by one of the open fires in the lounges and bar with tea and crumpets.

The theme for tonight’s dinner is “The Cotswolds” as chef has prepared a menu featuring the best of local produce from Severn and Wye Smoked Salmon and Foxcote Pheasant to Gloucester Old Spot Pork and Simon Weaver’s award winning cheeses- perhaps with a glass of English Wine.

Christmas Eve

After breakfast you will have the chance for some last minute retail therapy.in Stratford, Broadway or the amazing “Farm Shop” at Daylesford. Perhaps you would prefer a good country walk. You bring the boots and we have the maps! If you are checking in today, arrive in time for afternoon tea and homemade cakes in the lounges.

We invite every one for Champagne, Canapes and Christmas Carols before dinner in the Restaurant when our pianist will play to entertain you.

Afterwards you might want to attend Midnight Mass, and when you return we will be waiting by the fire with hot chocolate and warm mince pies.

Christmas Day

After you have opened your first presents enjoy a tempting Continental buffet breakfast of pastries, fresh fruit, yogurts, cereals, cheeses, juices, croissants and much more.

During the morning listen out for the sound of the sleigh. Is someone coming with presents for everyone- if they have been good? Before lunch why not wrap up warm for a stroll around the village – or further if you want to build up your appetite. We can help you with directions and fill your flasks. Take your time and return for a late lunch – you will deserve it.

Christmas Lunch is a highlight of the day. Chef’s menu will include Ribs of Hereford Beef, Free Range Bronze Turkeys and of course the Pudding Club’s own Christmas Pudding.

TThis afternoon snooze by the fire in a comfy chair, but wake up in time for Tea and Christmas Cake. Tonight we think you will still be hungry and there is a Buffet Supper with a tempting selection of hot and cold dishes. As you dine you will be amazed by the skills of our Table Magician.

Boxing Day

After you have enjoyed your English Breakfast we have plans for an enjoyable Boxing morning- details to follow. At lunchtime there is light buffet. Afterwards a short journey to Cheltenham, blowing away the cobwebs at Broadway Tower or the prettiness of the Slaughters may tempt you. Alternatively enjoy the Chocolate Treasure Hunt around the village.

Dinner tonight features some of the Traditional Puddings that have made us famous, including Sussex Pond –filled with whole lemons-, St. Nicholas Pudding and an intense and delicious Very Chocolate Pudding. This is a lighthearted evening with rules, history and fun followed by our traditional Quiz of the Year to test you memory.

Sunday 27th December

Hurrah! Tomorrow is a Bank Holiday. So why rush away? Take advantage of the very special rates for Dinner, Bed and Breakfast and stay for an extra night or two. Dinner in the Restaurant tonight includes a fantastic Steak and Kidney Pudding… What more can we say?

Prices are per guest and include meals, accommodation, entertainment as outlined, and VAT @15%.

We ask for a £100 deposit per guest at the time of booking to confirm your reservation. Full payment is then required by 1st November 2009. In the unfortunate circumstance of cancellation, deposits and pre-payments are non-refundable unless we are able to re let the room. We recommend that you take out Holiday Insurance.
